“…we wish to inform you that the Registrar of Companies, Ministry of Corporate Affairs (“MCA”), has approved the change in name of the Company from “Zomato Limited” to “Eternal Limited”, with effect from March 20, 2025,” Zomato said in a regulatory filing.
“The name of the company, thus, stands amended to “Eternal Limited” with effect from March 20, 2025, and the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the company stands altered to the extent of the change of name of the company,” it said.

The approval follows a special resolution passed by Zomato’s shareholders on March 10, 2025, through a postal ballot. The company clarified that the name change applies only to the corporate entity and does not affect its brand or app identity. The change is part of a broader strategy to align with the company’s evolving business interests.
Apart from the name change, shareholders also approved amendments to the Memorandum of Association (MoA) and Articles of Association (AoA) to reflect the rebranding. The scrutiniser’s report detailing the voting outcomes was published on March 9, 2025.
The decision was initially approved by Zomato’s board of directors on February 6, 2025, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. The move reflects the company’s shift beyond food delivery, with Blinkit (quick commerce), Hyperpure (B2B food supply), and District (dining out and events) forming key pillars of its diversified business model.

As part of this transformation, Zomato will move its corporate website from zomato.com to eternal.com, and its stock ticker will be updated from ZOMATO to ETERNAL. Zomato’s CEO, Deepinder Goyal, had shared the information in a letter to shareholders.
Goyal mentioned that following the acquisition of Blinkit, the management began using the brand name ‘Eternal’ internally to differentiate between the company and the Blinkit app/brand.
Shares of Zomato Ltd ended at ₹224.50, up by ₹1.05, or 0.47%, on the BSE.
