PM Modi to visit Mauritius on March 11 and 12 for its National Day celebrations – CNBC TV18

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mauritius to attend the island country’s National Day celebrations as the chief guest.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, told reporters at a press conference on Friday that a contingent of Indian defence forces will also be taking a part in the celebrations.

PM Modi will visit Mauritius on March 11 and 12, 2025, on the invitation of the country’s Prime Minster Dr. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam.

PM Modi will be the chief guest of Maritius’s National day celebrations on March 12. Along with Indian defence forces, a ship from the Indian Navy will also participate in the celebrations.

“On the invitation of the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam, PM Narendra Modi will pay a state visit to Mauritius on March 11 and 12, 2025, to attend the National Day celebration of Mauritius, which falls on the 12th of March, as the chief guest. A contingent of Indian defence forces will participate in the celebrations along with a ship from the Indian Navy,” said MEA spokesperson.

PM Modi last visited Mauritius in 2015. During the visit, Prime Minister will call on the President of Mauritius, meet with the Prime Minister of Mauritius and will hold several other meetings with dignitaries and senior leaders of the country, stated Jaiswal.

PM Modi visited United States and France in February 2025 and held key discussions with US President Donald Trump regarding India-US trade agreements and tariff retaliation concerns posed by Trump’s administration.

PM Modi attended the Paris AI Summit and held key deliberations with French President Emmanuel Macron, deepening ties in terms of sharing technological resources, and partnership on sovereignty and security.
