Edible oil major Patanjali Foods Ltd on Monday (February 10) reported a 71.3% jump in net profit in Q3FY25 at ₹370.9 crore over ₹216.5 crore year-on-year (YoY). The company’s revenue from operations grew 15.1% to ₹9,103 crore against ₹7,10.7 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.

At the operating level, EBITDA jumped 57.1% to ₹540.5 crore in the third quarter compared to ₹344.1 crore in the year-ago quarter. The EBITDA margin stood at 5.9% in the reporting quarter versus 4.4% YoY. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.

Patanjali Foods completed the acquisition of its home and personal care (HPC) business on November 1, 2024, expanding its presence across dental, skin, hair, and home care segments. However, the quarter saw subdued demand due to inflationary pressures and elevated raw material costs, particularly for palm oil and wheat. The company reported export revenues of ₹67.27 crore in Q3FY25, with exports spanning 29 countries.

Food & other FMCG segment

Revenue from the food & other FMCG segment stood at ₹2,037.61 crore in Q3FY25, down from ₹2,498.62 crore in Q3FY24. The decline was attributed to lower consumer staples revenue amid commodity price pressures and weak demand. EBITDA margin for the segment fell to 7.53% from 10.85% in Q3FY24, impacted by higher advertising expenses, rising raw material costs, and commodity price volatility.

Among key categories, TSP sales reached ₹138.66 crore, marking a 4.83% YoY growth. The biscuits division generated ₹395.37 crore in revenue, a 1.64% YoY increase, with the ‘Doodh’ biscuit brand maintaining its leadership. Honey sales doubled sequentially to ₹146.87 crore, while ghee sales remained stable at ₹355.71 crore. Nutraceuticals revenue grew 6.88% YoY to ₹15.09 crore.

Home & personal care (HPC) segment

Following the integration of the HPC business, segment revenue reached ₹420.36 crore. The segment’s key products include Dant Kanti, Saundarya, Herbal Wash, and Kesh Kanti. Dental care led with ₹223.47 crore in revenue, followed by skin care at ₹101.49 crore, home care at ₹56.69 crore, and hair care & other products making up the rest.

Edible oil segment

Edible oil sales rose to ₹6,717.47 crore in Q3FY25, up from ₹5,482.64 crore in Q3FY24. Branded edible oil accounted for approximately 75% of total sales. Segment EBITDA surged to ₹364.24 crore from ₹107.67 crore in Q3FY24, driven by rising global prices and higher duties.

The company continued its expansion in oil palm plantations, reaching 87,109 hectares as of December 31, 2024, compared to 80,952 hectares in September 2024. Additionally, the Niglok Mill in Arunachal Pradesh commenced production, with its first batch of crude palm oil dispatched to Haldia Refinery.

The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of Patanjali Foods Ltd ended at ₹1,847.50, up by ₹2, or 0.11%, on the BSE.
