JCB India is optimistic about achieving a record-breaking performance in 2024, marking a significant milestone in its operational history.

Deepak Shetty, the Managing Director and CEO of JCB India, shared this positive outlook in an interview with CNBC-TV18. He highlighted that 2023 was already a landmark year for the company, being the best year in its 44-year history.

“Last year was the best year in 44 years. This year, the industry has grown by 12%, and we have grown by around 14%, so we have seen consistent growth this year as well. I’m very confident that when we close this year, it will also be the best year ever,” Shetty remarked.

A critical factor in this growth is the continued support from the Indian government for infrastructure development, even amid the complexities of an election year. Shetty expressed gratitude for the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the country’s infrastructure, which has provided a favourable environment for companies like JCB to thrive.

In line with its innovation strategy, JCB India has recently launched a fuel-efficient excavator tailored for the Indian market. This new machine promises to deliver a 14% improvement in fuel efficiency, translating to significant cost savings for customers—approximately 2,000 litres of diesel saved annually. In addition to fuel savings, the excavator is designed to lower the total cost of ownership by increasing the changeover cycles for lubricants and hydraulic oils.
