Authorities are investigating an unusual security breach at San Francisco City Hall after three individuals, dressed in DOGE-branded shirts and MAGA hats, entered multiple offices and demanded access to digital government records related to alleged fraud and wasteful spending.

According to a statement from the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office (SFSO), the incident occurred around noon on February 16 when the men confronted city employees, insisting they turn over sensitive digital files.

The employees refused and promptly alerted law enforcement. Before deputies arrived, the individuals fled the scene.

The SFSO has launched an investigation into the incident, reviewing surveillance footage and employing other investigative tools to identify the suspects.

Authorities said that they do not believe the intruders were official representatives of DOGE.

In recent months, DOGE, or the Department of Government Efficiency headed by Elon Musk, has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at streamlining government operations and reducing costs. The department has introduced automation tools, restructured staffing models, and implemented AI-driven solutions to enhance efficiency within US government offices.

These measures have led to debates over potential job reductions and cost-cutting strategies, sparking both support and criticism from government employees and policymakers.

City officials have reassured employees and the public that security protocols were followed, and no sensitive information was compromised.

However, the breach has raised concerns about the safety of government offices and the motivations behind the intrusion.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office as the investigation continues.
