How to Check PF Balance Without UAN?
There are two ways you can check the PF balance without UAN: by sending an SMS or by giving a missed call.
Checking PF Balance By Sending SMS
Once the KYC for your UAN is complete, you can check your PF status by simply sending an SMS.
Here are the steps to check your PF balance by sending an SMS:
Create a text message in the format “EPFOHO UAN”.
From the mobile number linked with your EPFO account, send this message to 7738299899.
You will get a message with information about your latest PF contribution, and how much balance you have.
If you want to receive the message in any language other than English, you have to put the first 3 letters of the language after “UAN”.
Here’s how the language codes are used in the message for different languages:
- English (Default): EPFO UAN
- Hindi: EPFO UAN HIN
- Punjabi: EPFO UAN PUN
- Gujarati: EPFO UAN GUJ
- Marathi: EPFO UAN MAR
- Kannada: EPFO UAN KAN
- Telugu: EPFO UAN TEL
- Tamil: EPFO UAN TAM
- Malayalam: EPFO UAN MAL
- Bengali: EPFO UAN BEN
Checking PF Balance Via Missed Call
If the KYC for your UAN is complete, you can make a missed call to check your PF balance.
Here are the steps:
Give a missed call to 9966044425 from the phone number linked with your PF account.
Once the phone has rung twice, it should disconnect automatically.
You will get a message with information about your PF balance and the latest contribution.
Provident Fund is one of the major instruments for financial safety after retirement. If you don’t have access to your PF balance, you can use the methods described above to check it even without UAN.
You can also ask your employer to generate your PF statement for you from the EPFO portal.
