The Andhra Pradesh government told PTI that the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation (NREDCAP) will facilitate the project’s execution. It has also asked HMPL to submit a detailed project report (DPR).
The new solar project would boost Andhra Pradesh govt’s ambitious plan to position the state as a leader in green hydrogen production, aiming to contribute a third of India’s total output by 2030.
Earlier last month, speaking about the state’s green energy initiatives with CNBC-TV18 at the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos, CM Chandrababu Naidu had emphasised the importance of integrating sustainable energy solutions with advanced infrastructure to meet the rising demand for green hydrogen.
HMPL, which operates in renewable energy and road construction under the EPC model, recently entered the domestic clean energy space with 1.2 GW of projects across 4,200 acres in Maharashtra.
Shares of HMPL closed 1.5% lower at ₹53.84 on the BSE on Saturday.
