Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar was unassumed with the way his team’s batting order collapsed as they faced a six-wicket home loss against the Delhi Capitals (DC) on Thursday.

Leg spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam sparked a bowling feast for DC a they triggered a quick fall of wickets, whereas KL Rahul starred with 93*, carrying a disarrayed unit to safely take his team past the finishing line with 13 deliveries to spare.

“We have not batted well. Batters are in a good frame of mind, they have shown nice intent. 60 for one, and then 90 for four, that is not acceptable,” said Patidar post match.

RCB’s Phil Salt unleashed a vast array of shots to take his team to 53/0 after three overs, but the team could manage only 110 in the 17 overs that followed.

“We thought it would be a nice batting track. We were lacking in assessing the conditions and the situation,” said Patidar, adding that Tim David (37) did his bit by accelerating the run-scoring.

But it came too late in the day.

“The way David accelerated at the end, it was really amazing. The powerplay, the way the (RCB) fast bowlers bowled, it was really special (reducing DC to 30/3),” he added.

RCB will next face Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 13, Sunday.
