Gautam Adani charged with bribery scheme LIVE: A day after fallout from a US indictment against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani over allegations of bribery, the White House in a press briefing on November 21 said, it is aware of allegations levelled against the Adani Group by SEC and DOJ. While two agencies will deal with the Adani Bribery case, the foundation of India and US relationship remains strong, the White House said. “We believe and we’re confident that we’ll continue to navigate this issue, as we have with other issues that may have come up… But, we believe that this relationship between India and the US has been built on a strong foundation.” Back home, Adani Group stocks tumbled yesterday as a US court indicted Gautam Adani, his nephew Sagar Adani and other group executives on charges of bribery related to certain solar projects. At their lowest point, the Adani Group’s cumulative market capitalisation had declined by ₹2.6 lakh crore with the group’s stocks falling between 7% and 23% yesterday.
