As many as 43 companies will have their pre-listing shareholder lock-ins lifted starting Tuesday until December 31, 2024. A total of 250 crore shares will be eligible for trading as various lock-in periods lift during the remainder of the year.

According to a list from Nuvama Alternative and Quantitative Research, the companies include recent listings like Bajaj Housing Finance, Ola Electric Mobility, Bharti Hexacom, among others.

The list includes lock-in periods starting from one month to as long as 1.5 years and beyond.

This will release shares valued at $18.8 billion into the market between October 8, 2024, and December 31, 2024.

However, it needs to be specified that end of the lock-in period means those shares will only get eligible for trading and does not necessarily mean they would be sold in the market.

One-Month Lock-In Opening:

Starting today, October 8, the one-month lock-in period of Bajaj Housing Finance opens. This will open up 12.6 crore shares or 2% of the total equity eligible for being traded. Other such companies with a one-month lock-in period include Western Carriers, Shree Tirupati Balajee, PN Gadgil Jewellers, Arkade Developers, and others.

With an IPO price of Rs 70, Bajaj Housing Finance shares went up to as high as Rs 188.50 before entering a correction phase. They ended Monday’s session 10% lower at Rs 135.54.
