European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit India on 27-28 February, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced. She will be accompanied by the European Union (EU) College of Commissioners.

During the visit, von der Leyen will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both leaders will deliver press remarks on Friday.

The second ministerial meeting of the India- EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) will also take place. EU Commissioners will hold bilateral meetings with their Indian counterparts.

This will be von der Leyen’s third visit to India. She previously visited in April 2022 for a bilateral trip and in September 2023 for the G20 Leaders’ Summit.

It will be the first time the entire EU College of Commissioners visits India together.

The MEA noted that this is among the first such visits since the current European Commission took office in December 2024, following the European parliamentary elections in June 2024.
