The scheme, a key BJP poll promise, aims to provide direct financial support to women.
The AAP government earlier launched the Mahila Samman Yojana, offering ₹1,000 per month to eligible women above 18, with a planned increase to ₹2,100.
BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh has the Ladli Behna Yojana, and Maharashtra has the Ladki Bahin Yojana, both of which deposit cash directly into women’s accounts.
Gupta, elected as the BJP legislature party leader on Wednesday (February 19), assured that delivering financial support remains a top priority.
“Ensuring financial stability for women is crucial. We will transfer funds directly to beneficiaries’ accounts by March 8,” she said.
The BJP won 48 out of 70 seats, ending AAP’s decade-long rule. Gupta, a former DUSU president and municipal councilor, will take oath as Delhi’s fourth woman CM at Ramlila Maidan today, in the presence of PM Narendra Modi.
