The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) announced on Tuesday, January 7, that it would contest the Delhi Assembly elections independently, without entering into any alliances.

In a post on X, Mayawati also expressed hope that the Election Commission would take steps to ensure the Delhi Assembly elections remain free from the “misuse of government machinery, communalism, and other malicious propaganda.”

“BSP is fighting this election on its own strength with full preparation and strength. It is expected that the party will definitely perform well in this election,” she posted.

Assembly polls in Delhi will be held on February 5, and the votes will be counted on February 8. The last date to file nominations is January 17, and nominations will be scrutinized by January 18.
