Promeet Ghosh, MD & CEO of Crompton, has always believed that there is incredible potential in Crompton. Since taking on the leadership role, his focus has been on helping employees, consumers, and shareholders tap into that potential and drive the company’s growth forward.

Reflecting on the strengths of the brand, Ghosh noted Crompton’s extensive reach and brand power, with products sold through over 300,000 outlets across the country.

“We have an incredibly strong brand,” he said, emphasising Crompton’s leadership in several product categories and the potential to deepen its presence both in existing segments and emerging areas.

According to Ghosh, the company’s top priority is to leverage its market position in core categories while expanding in high-potential segments like premium fans and solar pumps.

Crompton holds a dominant share in the fan market, yet Ghosh identified room for growth in premium fans, a segment that has yet to fully reflect Crompton’s market share in standard fans. He believes this premium segment is critical to consumers’ everyday experiences, positioning it as a priority for Crompton’s future product innovation and distribution efforts.

“There isn’t a good reason for us over the next several years not to have a 30% plus share in fans,” Ghosh remarked, underscoring his confidence in Crompton’s ability to capture a greater share of the market.

The company is also venturing into the renewable energy space with its recent foray into solar pumps. Ghosh sees significant potential in this area, projecting that the solar pump market could grow to a value of approximately ₹2,500–3,000 crore.

Crompton strong in residential pumps, but lags in agricultural pumps; CEO believes the company can lead in emerging segments.

Crompton is targeting a close-to double-digit market share in this segment, viewing it as a strategic opportunity aligned with broader trends toward sustainability and renewable energy solutions.
