The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the list of bank holidays for August 2024. The banks will remain closed for a total of 13 days in August.

This list includes all Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, as well as state-wise regional holidays.

The list of holidays may vary depending on the state and region.

With several holidays in the month, it is essential to plan your bank visits accordingly.

The RBI designates holidays for all the banks in the country under the Negotiable Instruments Act holidays, the Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays and the Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

Here is the list of bank holidays in August 2024:

August 3: Banks will remain closed in Agartala on the occasion of Ker Puja.

August 8: Banks will remain closed in Gangtok on the occasion of Tendong Lho Rum Faat.

August 13: Banks will remain closed in Imphal on the occasion of Patriot’s Day.

August 15: On the occasion of Independence Day, banks will remain closed across India.

August 19: Banks will remain closed in a few states on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

August 20: Banks will remain closed in Kerala on the occasion of Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi.

August 26: On the occasion of Janmashtami, banks will remain closed in a few states.

Weekend bank holidays list:

The bank will also remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays across India on August 10 and August 24.

It will also be closed on all Sundays across India on August 4, 11, 18, and 25.
