The MoU, signed during the Indonesian President’s state visit to India, aims to enhance mutual fund sectors in both countries, promote financial literacy, and foster a globally integrated investment ecosystem.
The agreement will allow both nations to exchange best practices in areas like regulatory reforms, governance, investor protection, product innovation, and risk management.
It seeks to improve mutual fund industries by leveraging each country’s expertise.
Navneet Munot, Chairman of AMFI, said, “This partnership aligns with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Indonesia’s goal of economic development by 2045. It will contribute to the success of both nations’ mutual fund sectors.”
Venkat Chalasani, Chief Executive of AMFI, highlighted the collaboration as a significant step in enhancing market understanding, governance standards, and investor confidence in both countries.
The MoU also outlines the creation of working groups to focus on key areas of mutual interest.
These groups will regularly assess the progress of the partnership, ensuring it remains impactful and relevant for both India and Indonesia.
What this means for investors?
Investors can expect higher governance standards and better investor protection measures.
The collaboration focuses on sharing best practices, which may lead to more transparency and security in mutual fund operations.
Both countries will work together to empower investors, helping them make informed decisions.
By learning from each other’s regulatory frameworks, India and Indonesia aim to boost investor trust.
